AH! Day 3, the morning call of Taylor Swift blaring through my phone, attempting to wake me up from my slumber. "Just 5 more minutes". It's a slow morning. After getting ready. I go down to the lobby, looking forward to the delicious complimentary breakfast (which I think all hotels should do this) Some smoked salmon and cheese.
Yummy!
I'm not sure I explained this, and I am kinda tired of going back to look at previous blogs. So I will explain it again. The salmon was delicious with a light smoke flavor, but not too much to overwhelm the natural taste of the salmon itself. They texture was slightly firm, but it would eventually just melt in your mouth. The cheese was good. Not too much flavor, just enough to compliment the salmon.
To supplement the delicious, I have myself some pancakes, ham and cheese sandwich, and mini omelet.
Fill up the belly!
The day is beautiful. I go to work, for more training etc. But, I can't really complain, I mean just look at this campus!
SO GREEN!
What do we get?
'Oh. Look at all the...dirt.' -.-
I'm exaggerating of course...slightly. Lunch time comes around, and we go to the same 'Burritas' place we went yesterday. Except yesterday, we had to go up and over this bridge that spans the highway. The native GDL'rs didn't want to do this. It takes a lot of time and work. Jose, one of the guys we went with turns to me and says "Do you want to feel like a real Mexican. Or how do you call it? Border hoppers?" "That's fine I say" So, we wait for the next clearing of cars, and start to run across this highway. We have to jump over a K-rail, climb over a fence, then another K-rail, in the center median. Honestly I feel like this was more work than just going over the bridge. After, screaming at the top of my lungs to get across, we finally make it to the other side. It was intense, but I can finally say that I have experienced the authentic Mexican experience. HA! I'm kidding. But that was the thought that was going through my head as we got ready to do this. But, there is actually a clearing, where we could just cross, and it was 4 lanes of traffic, but remember those random speed bumps in the middle of the freeway I told you about? Yeah, that gave us a clearing of cars to cross. It was very undramatic.
At 'Burritas' I order the taquitos. The quantity was odd. 4. Not 3. But 4 taquitos. I wasn't complaining, I just thought it was odd. They were pretty good. Enough to fill you up, but not stuff you. I also got a 7Up in a bottle, made with real sugar.
The day passes by quickly and we leave work and head back to the hotel. I take a quick rest and get some dinner.
Creamy tomato soup was the starter. It was creamy and tomato-ey. In the center was some cheese that topped a tomato. Which I was slightly disappointed in because I wanted it to be all cheese! But it was still good none the less. Up next, the main event. Fish!
On the next episode... Day 4! Blacksheep Adventures!
