Guadalajara - Day 3 - Border Crossing Adventures!
I haven't updated in a while since I've been busy. Bad news bears. I had taken a lot of notes on my experiences while in Mexico. I left it open in a .txt file. However, I just got back from a 1 week drive across the country and my battery ran out while the computer was in sleep mode. Soooo, all my notes are gone. :( Sucky. So the following entries for my trip in GDL will be based off of pictures and memory. Wish me luck. (It's ok, the majority of it was just how much I paid for different foods.)

AH! Day 3, the morning call of Taylor Swift blaring through my phone, attempting to wake me up from my slumber. "Just 5 more minutes". It's a slow morning. After getting ready. I go down to the lobby, looking forward to the delicious complimentary breakfast (which I think all hotels should do this) Some smoked salmon and cheese.

Guadalajara - Day 2 - Rain and More Food
Tuesday June 19th, 2012
Woke up Tuesday morning to the familiar sound of Taylor Swift gently waking me up. (Our Song). The cool morning dew (3.2*C; 38*F) of the rain the night before was refreshing as the day before was hot....and humid. Went down to the hotel restaurant to grab some breakfast that consisted of ham, cheese, orange juice and the familiar Frosted Flakes. 'They're GRRREEEAT!' Went to work.
EDIT: I just found another picture! Apparently I also got an omelet that morning too. Ham, egg, cheese, onions, bell peppers.
Guadalajara - Day 1 - Travels through GDL!
The continuation...
Mara picks us up from the airport, in her Rhino-lined Toyota Hilux Pre-Runner 2.7L VVT-i. Pretty sweet looking thing. Oh, and it's a standard transmission. Which apparently the majority of the people in GDL drive. I am told that automatics are typically more common near the border, because they are unregistered. Manual transmissions are cheaper and easier to maintain. Plus, you definitely have to be paying attention when you're driving here.
Onward march...so the most prevalent thing that I noticed leaving the airport are the amount of bill board advertisements. They're just everywhere!
'My heroic act today is to find a Coke!'
Guadalajara - Day 1 - GDL Here I come!
Time to Spice it up a bit! The Guadalajara experience has been amazing! It's been nearly a week since I've been here, and I've been taking lots of pictures of random stuff. Unfortunately, I don't have interwebz on my phone down here, so I have to wait to get to the office before my G+ auto uploads them. So, as for this GDL piece of my adventures, I decided to take notes of my experiences and of course share them through pictures, words, letters and the occasional punctuation mark. Unfortunately, or fortunately, my notes are leaning more towards a blog about food in Guadalajara, which isn't bad. Hopefully I will be able to keep up on this more on a daily basis.
Monday June 18th, 2012 - The Dreaded Early Morning
--------------------------------------
I had scheduled my flight, volun-told to do so, at 6:00....IN THE MORNING! What does that mean? Waking up reallllllly early. So, yeah that whole thing about arriving at the airport 2 hours before your flight? Not going to happen. I woke up at 4....Ok, 4:09. (Hey, snoozing only once that early is pretty good I think) Surprisingly, my dad was already up and ready. I had gathered all of my belongings that I had frantically packed the night before, and was driven to the airport. I do have to say, one nice thing about having an early flight are the short lines at the airport. I went up to the check in counter, and tried to check in, unfortunately, I was apparently in the wrong line. So I had to move to a different line....You know that one line, the long one with 50 people in it? I exaggerate but you get my point. I check one bag, get my tickets and head off to the security line. I hand the TSA person my passport and ticket, and head to the machine piece. I walk through, no problem. However my bag takes what seems like eons to get through the x-ray machine. They didn't like the fact that my laptop wasn't in a separate bin. (I swear there will be pictures, just keep reading) I get through and meet up with the person I'm going to GDL with. The flight from Tucson to Phoenix takes a mere 20 minutes. It took longer to get on and off of the plane. I had an aisle seat. Boo. Oh well. I sat next to a young lady who was on her way back home to Baltimore; (it's somewhere in New York I think). HA! I kid. Did you just face palm yourself? Anyway, she was home for the weekend. Father's Day. Good kid. She's studying Spanish and Literal Culture...at ASU. GO WILDCATS!
So the flight lands in PHX for a 1:30 layover. Our plane arrived 30 minutes early so our 1:30 layover turned into a 2 hour layover.
Let the Adventure Begin!
Just a quick note. I wanted to start this new blog, with a fresh new name. Something that is a little more descriptive, but at the same time general enough to cover what I want to put in this blog. The previous name "What was, what is, and what shall be" just wasn't me. I felt like it didn't really say anything, and it wasn't fun and exciting. So, the new name will be "Adventure Time in Adventureland". I realize that there is already a cartoon called Adventure Time.... and a movie called Adventureland. Both great, but they don't really have anything to do with this. This blog is meant to be an adventure of travels and explorations of the world and world wide web. I will also update this blog with my previous blogs so everything will be on a single page. None of this jumping around shenanigans. So, without further delay, LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN!
